GUN CONTROL MOVEMENT
This post is about gun control, so this is a movement that will hopefully be heard.
First, I would like to talk about the National Rifle Association. (NRA). The NRA is a group of people who declare the laws about who and how people can use guns. To me, they are a very bad group of people. In fact, at protests, a common chant is “hey hey, NRA how many kids did you kill today?” It is disturbing, but true.
Dana Loesch is one of the people who work in the NRA. I strongly disagree with her. So, you might have heard of the Parkland, Florida high school shooting that occurred February of 2018. Here is what happened: At 3:18pm, it was a half day, and suddenly, the fire alarm went off. Everybody started going to the exits, but it was a trap. A man in his 20’s had a gun, and was ready to shoot. In the end, he killed 17 people, and 17 others were injured. It was traumatic event for the entire nation. After that, hundreds of disapproval broke about across the U.S.A. There were walkouts, protests, marches, and more. All of this was to try and convince the NRA to make the gun control laws tougher, to make it harder for people to buy guns.
This is a very important movement to me. I walked 6 protests, I did those walkouts, I made those signs, I wrote those emails, I wrote those letters, I care, and this post is to try and make you care too. You need to care. This is your world you’re living in. You can’t wait around for a change to happen, make it change. You have to put in the effort. You have to try. And as one of the best teachers says, “it’s better to try and fail, then to fail to try”. I hope that you do something about this. Go out and make a change.
